The Triad Housing Hangout returns this month with a conversation that touches nearly every corner of the region’s housing crisis: keeping people in their homes. Join us on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Forsyth County Central Library, 660 West 5th Street, Winston-Salem. Parking is available in the library lot across the street at 5th Street and Spring Street, and light refreshments will be provided.
This session examines eviction prevention, mediation, legal aid, tenant support, and stronger prevention of displacement. Panelists will discuss the current eviction landscape across the Piedmont Triad, the resources available for housing stability, and opportunities for regional coordination, including mediation approaches, right-to-counsel initiatives, diversion networks, and nonprofit responses to displacement.
We are pleased to be joined by panelists representing the UNCG Center for Housing and Community Studies, Housing Justice Now, City with Dwellings, the City of Winston-Salem Human Relations Department, and Legal Aid of North Carolina; organizations that together span the research, advocacy, direct-service, government, and legal dimensions of eviction prevention.
The Housing Hangout series, hosted by Innovative Research Insights, brings together housing professionals, advocates, landlords, residents, funders, and anyone interested in regional housing issues for informal, practice-focused conversation. No expertise is required; curiosity and a commitment to solutions are plenty.
